February 2026

February was quiet — aside from a short trip to Røros, it was mostly grey and low on motivation. I spent time trying to photograph the grey, including experiments with ICM that didn’t always work out. A few moments of light did appear; these are the images I made at home and while traveling to and from work.

Early morning birds

I forgot my phone in the car and went back to get it — camera in hand, of course. In the early morning light I managed to capture a few shots of birds in flight, their silhouettes against the colourful sky.

Airplanes in the evening

I spent a night near Oslo Airport and hiked to a nearby viewpoint to photograph planes landing and taking off in the late evening light. I used a long shutter speed to capture the motion of the aircraft. These are the images I’m most pleased with.

Testing something in Nannestad

Inspired by one of Eva Polak’s videos on Impressionist techniques, I experimented with some of the methods on my way to work in Nannestad. I may have gone a bit overboard, but I’m very excited by the photos in the end. Is this a direction I should dive into? I continue my wanderings as a developing photographer, searching for my path.

A frosty sunrise

At −28 degrees Celsius, with the low sun, it was a challenge I had to try. I struggled for a while to find a way to edit the pictures to accentuate the cold, freezing morning. This is the best I could do, and I think it’s working — do you?
