Back in Jotunheimen
This time the autumn colours had arrived and framed the scenes beautifully. I went out both early and late to capture the massive mountains during the golden hours. The explorations took a toll on my body — I had never expected photography to be this demanding — yet I thoroughly enjoyed the expeditions, finding new places and pushing further into the mountains than I ever had before. Each time I wanted to go just over the next summit or around the next bend to see what lay beyond — maybe next time.
The first location took me up to a area around an old moutain dairy farm.
In the evening I went into Gjende to capture the sun setting over the beautiful Gjendevannet.
The next morning I ventured out into the darkness to reach a vantage point from which I could capture Kalvhøeggen in the soft light of sunrise; I also managed a shot looking down towards the sun rising over the Sjoa Valley and the Leirung Valley with Surtningssue (2 368 m) in the bacground.
Later that day I went down to Russa to look for autumn colours framing the river, but the water caught my attention.
The evening spent on Valdresflye after a trip to Beitostølen. The colours near Lake Vinstre were magnificent.
On my way to Rondane I drove towards Glitterheim to explore the area. Idle photo opportunities and a couple of reindeer posed for the photographer, almost like models.
