Karl Petter

I am a man with a camera based in Østfold, Norway, on a journey to find my expression through the lens, drawing inspiration from photographers I meet in person and those I discover online. Visit the websites of Kristin Devor from beautiful Hemsedal and from Oslo — two Norwegian photographers whose work I reasently came in contact with.

I got my first camera in November 2022 — a Canon EOS 250D with a kit lens — and began exploring and learning. I rarely go anywhere without my camera, and most of my photos are taken spontaneously. Still, I enjoy travelling to explore locations with landscapes different from home. Mountains and the ocean especially entice me — their vastness gives me a sense of freedom. The photos yet to be taken pull me towards new areas of exploration, such as the Milky Way, portraits, action, abstraction and more.

Printing has become part of my learning process; I currently print up to A2 and experiment with different paper stocks. I use the Canon ecosystem, shooting mirrorless bodies (R5 and R7) with RF f/2.8 15–35 mm and RF f/4 24–105 mm lenses, and I also use f/2.8 EF lenses (24–70 mm and 70–200 mm). I would love to get my hands on the RF 100–500 mm to extend my range and pick out details in the landscape.

I’d like to hear from you
